Overview

Oasis del Desierto (Oasis of the Desert) is the Desert Recreation District’s latest park located in Oasis, California. The park, which had its opening ceremony on October 1, 2021, is the first park in the community of Oasis. Input from the community was gathered during the creation of this park in order to provide the types of activities that the community wished to see in their park. The first phase of our project features a playground, a soccer field, a basketball court, a shade structure, as well as outdoor exercise facilities. 

Unique Project Features

Oasis Del Desierto brings much-needed green space to the low-income Eastern Coachella Valley. The town of Oasis will be getting its first park, which will not only provide a place for activities but will also serve as a place for the community to gather. In addition to the construction of the park, local infrastructure was enhanced by installing a new water line at the location. The new water line will improve local access to clean drinking water.
